Our family experienced some refining this year & was strained in some unexpected ways.  Having a growth mindset and a desire to persevere and learn, I make an effort to use situations as learning opportunities and make an effort to teach others how to do the same.  Also, when challenging (even scary) things happen, I try and recalibrate by reminding myself of the things that really matter.  These reminders were things that came to mind about halfway through 2025 originally created as a note to my teenage sons.  They are in no particular order- I wrote them as they came to mind.  May this list be one that gets revisited as we prepare for and journey through 2026.

*We are here by the grace of God.  He keeps us; sustains us; gives us life.
*Every decision matters- it moves us in a direction.  The entire trajectory of our lives can change with one decision.
*Decisions we make do not only impact us; consider this.
*We have been given the responsibility of stewardship-- this applies to time, talents, money, relationships/people, things (material possessions).  We owe honor to The One who has given it; and we have a responsibility to steward it well.  We will be (and are) held accountable for our stewardship.
*Rules and accountability are healthy & good.  They promote safety, structure and transparency.
*It is our responsibility to discipline our minds and line up our thoughts with what God says.  (There are several verses with this reminder)
*God will let us choose AND will hold us accountable for our choices. Choose wisely.
*Slow down!

Here's to an intentional 2026!!

Meet Jonna Davis

My name is Jonna Davis. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in North Carolina. I have experience in helping clients work through grief and trauma; helping them work on goals, habits, motivation, self esteem/self-image, improving concentration, memory and focus (adhd); and addressing anxiety and depression. The treatment modalities I use vary, but I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness Based Therapy. I take a holistic approach in the treatment I provide. I believe everyone is on a journey and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming things that challenge you. Taking the first step to wellness, healing and wholeness takes courage. I am here to support you in that process.
